We are pleased to announce that we have added James Bennett, Program Manager for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s (BOEM) Renewable Energy Program and Dr. Anna Michel, Chief Scientist for the National Deep Submergence Facility at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution to the Blue Innovation Symposium’s agenda.

Mr. Bennett will provide an overview of the status of offshore wind in the Northeast, the BOEM approval process, and a timeline of proposed activities in OSW. Mr. Bennett has over 40 years of experience in the environmental and energy sectors. At BOEM’s Office of Renewable Energy Programs he oversees the responsible development of renewable energy resources on the Outer Continental Shelf.

Dr. Michel will discuss the critical role that the National Deep Submergence Facility (NDSF) has in research and beyond. Dr. Michel received her PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is the first woman to serve in this high-profile role.
