New Speakers and Sponsors Announced for the 2022 Symposium

We are pleased to announce that Christian Cowan, Executive Director, 401Techbridge and Chief Operating Officer at the URI Research Foundation, will be joining us as a panelist this year.
 
Christian is a senior executive with more than 20 years of experience in technical manufacturing operations and marketing in the IT networking, energy and textile industries. He brings both domestic and overseas hands-on manufacturing experience to the University of Rhode Island Research Foundation (URIRF), Polaris MEP’s parent organization. Christian earned his BSEE degree from Villanova University and his MBA from the University of Rhode Island.
We are also pleased to announce that Jose Vazquez, Director, Defense and Security, Boston Engineering, will be joining us as a moderator of a panel that will discuss innovations in sensor technologies that will include panelists from Sofar Ocean, Dartmouth Ocean Technologies, and the Office of Naval Research.
 
Jose has more than 15 years leading technology development programs that advance capabilities for US soldiers and first responders. He has served as a director at both the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T).
 
He spent two decades in the US Navy where he held engineering and weapons systems responsibilities that culminated as second in command of an AEGIS cruiser. Jose holds a BS from the US Naval Academy and an MS degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in applied science (underwater physics).

Flashtalks: Each year, the Blue Innovation Symposium offers a limited number of blue technology firms the opportunity to deliver a 5-minute presentation at the conference. If you are interested in being considered, please email info@blueinnovationsymposium.com the following: Name, Email Address, website, description of your technology or service, and what you are hoping to accomplish (i.e. announce new tech, identify partners, secure an investment, etc.). Applications will be open through January 15, 2022.
 
Rising Tide Award: Each year, the Blue Innovation Symposium recognizes an individual, a US Company, and a Canadian company for their contributions to the blue technology community. You can submit a nomination by sending the name of person/company being nominated, a short description of what contributions they have made, and their contact information. Nominations will be kept anonymous.
